Have you been searching for an affordable place to buy and sell miniatures?
I was! ....and I finally found one and thought you might like to know about it too.
I've been using Miniatures Only auction site, and as its name implies, the site is exclusively for miniature items. I've found several wonderful props to use with my dolls when I photograph them, and to display with them at shows. If you're a collector, you'll enjoy the affordable variety that you will find there.
If you're a seller there's a great opportunity for you there as well. You can list your miniature for up to 10 days with 5 free pictures... and there is no charge. You will pay ONLY if you sell... and that cost is only 3.5%... considerably less than eBay. Pay Pal is available, but not required.
The first few times I listed, several people visited.... but I got no bids. My first instinct was to go back to my search for an affordable place to sell. But then I changed my mind. It occurred to me that since listings are free, I could consider every listing as FREE ADVERTISING. At this point M.O.A. has over 1600 members. It seemed to me that it would be a good idea to put up as many of my minis as I had time to list in order to expose them to those people... ALL of whom are miniaturists. So I just kept listing... and listing.
I made one other change too... I told all of my existing customers to begin looking for me at MOA, and each time I listed something, I would send a picture of that doll to my customer along with MOA's link. I also enclosed a flyer inside every package I mailed out to people who had not found me through MOA.
It worked! In fact, it worked so well I gave up using eBay. But things are slow now... I went back to eBay, but that was slow too... AND... I had to pay each time I listed whether my item sold or not. And.... even though I didn't sell as often as I used to, I was still able to make a sale on MOA, whereas eBay just wasn't working for me at all. So I'll be going back to MOA after my October show...
I promote this site not only because I believe in it, but also because if we miniaturists are able to work together to make it grow, we will finally have a special and affordable place to offer our miniatures for sale, as well as a great place to shop for our personal collections.
Since it's free, you might want to try it out too. Be patient, and list as much and as often as you can. I'm convinced that it will bring buyers for your products, and it will also serve as free advertising. Here's how to register (that's free too) and you can contact me at dollsmini@aol.com if you have any questions.
It's easy to list and to buy... with one confusing part. After listing an item, you are left with the impression that the auction is about to start without your picture. Keep going... your chance to include a picture comes next. And,if five pictures are not enough, you can add additional pictures in the description section by using those you have in Photo Bucket.
If you are interested in becoming a member, here's how. If you want step-by-step instructions on how to list, and how to buy, email me at dollsmini@aol.com.
By the way, I do not own this site. It is owned by Shelly Norris at shelly.norris@gmail.com.

If requested, I can send you a master of a sheet of 4 flyers to distribute to your customers, club members, show tables, etc to help the rest of the world know that they can now find your miniature at MOA, as well as many other fine mini items.
