Mummy and Daddy took me to the hospital on Friday for my pre-op assessment. They looked very sad when we left but I don’t understand why but then thats because I’m a baby.

I heard Mr Ong say that he plans on operating on one hip and manipulating the other one in. He said that if that works then I shall be in a hip spica cast for  6 weeks. After 6 weeks, they shall change the cast for another one. After another 6 weeks, the cast will be removed and I shall be put in a double splint. That will stay on for a further 3 months.

I get the impression from mummys shocked face that she wasn’t expecting it to be for that long.

Mr Ong said that if he can’t manipulate the other hip in then he shall have to operate on that hip too.

Mummy cheered up over the weekend because she read about other babies that have got through this on the STEPS website. Apparently I have the most severe kind. Daddy said thats typical of me…charming!

Anyway, I’m glad they seem brighter about the whole thing now. I’m not worried because it means lots of fuss and attention.

If they think I’m just going to lay there they’ve got another think coming. I plan on whizzing about on that bodyboard Daddys building.

Watch out furniture, here I come!!!
