All of us at icklebits would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year! Thank you all for your continued support with icklebits. The community is growing and hopefully icklebits will continue to blossom into 2012!
So......what's been happening?
News...
- We will be taking a break between 5pm 23rd December and 9am 28th December. Photos, links, images etc will not be approved during that time. New Galleries and Blogs will be set up when we return. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
- I know that I've been very, very, very quiet this second half of the year but I've been very, very, very busy behind the scenes. I'm still building the new site (including shop!), preparing my old miniatures stock and getting together the new beads and jewellery making stock. All this takes time measuring, weighing and creating their own page as you can probably well imagine. I will try and keep you updated on here.
- Charlotte starts nursery in January (yay!) which means I can REALLY get going with icklebits again. I've missed creating miniatures over the last 3 years and can't wait to get back in to it. I've made about 1000 paper plates so far ready to go back in stock.
- THANK YOU also for your continued donations. Without those I wouldn't be in a position to work on the new site and reopen the shop for you all!
New Members...
- We have had hundreds of new members this year and I want to welcome each and every one of you!
Forum...
- Some of our new members have posted in the forum so please, please pop along and say hello. (You need to be logged in first to view)
Galleries...
- We've had countless new galleries this year but no photos!!!! I've checked and double checked and its letting me post them. I'm seriously considering not installing the gallery section on the new website.
- NOTE: Some people when registering are ticking the "Enable gallery" box but not putting what name they want. Without the name I'm afraid we can't set it up. If you are one of those people then please email me at gallery@icklebits.co.uk with your username and preferred title. Gallery will be set up within 48 working hours.
Blogs...
- There have been no new posts in the blogs section on the website for 6 months...again I'm considering getting rid of this when I launch the new site also. It's not totally attached to this one so unlike the gallery it could be continued if there is enough demand.
- To read the latest posts go to www.icklebits.co.uk/blogs then you will see the latest posts by each member.
- Also if you join us at twitter you can see the lasest posts via tweets! (see twitter window to left of website or bird at top left)
New fairs...
- Obviously the fair calendar hasn't been updated. This is a full time job and with me working on the other site its not being done. Gosh as I write this letter I feel more and more guilty about the empty site. Good job there are over 1000 tutorials!.
New Tutorials and printables...
- We now have over 1000 tutorials listed on icklebits (including videos)!!!
Articles...
Medals and Awards...
- Another thing that will more than likely not be on the new site. There just isn't enough interest and if you knew how much hassle it was to do the points and medals you would see why I may end it.
Raffle...
- For the same reason above this has been on hold.
New Entries in Business Directory
- This has been one of the most time consuming jobs, transferring all this information over. The directory has swelled on the new site due to me including websites from other crafts!
