 Since icklebits.co.uk is primarily a community site, we have no staff writers. However, we have something much better - you! We rely on people like you to submit content to site and keep it a fresh and interesting place for dolls house miniature creators and collectors to exchange ideas and information.

Unlike other sites, we want to keep icklebits subscription free but this means we need to meet our running costs each tax year. The chart to the right shows how we're doing this tax year.

During the last tax year (we'd only been asking for 6 months) we raised £72. This was just enough to cover 6 months costs so we can guarantee to stay free for a further 6 months!

By submitting content to the site, you can earn icklepoints. For more information on the program, click here.
There are a number of ways to submit content to the site:
Forum Posting
A less formal way to contribute to the site, is through discussion forums. Contributions can be either asking a question (the answer will likely be of interest to others) or by answering a question or comment to an existing discussion. Here's how to join in:
- Register (don't worry it's free and easy)
- Log In
- Go to Forum in the Top Menu
- Click on the Forum topic you are interested in
- Click on Post New Topic to bring up the topic editor.
- Enter in your comment or question and click on SUBMIT when ready to go.
- icklebits staff reserves the right to delete inappropriate posts, move them to different category, or convert them to articles on the site.
Comments
Most articles have the ability to add and look at user submitted comments. This is a great way to provide additional ideas and comments to submitted content. To submit a comment, do the following:
- Scroll down to the bottom of the article, you can also view existing comments here.
- Add in your comment and click SEND when complete.
Calendar/Events
Post the latest miniature events from fairs, courses and shows:
- Log-in
- Click on the Events Menu Selection
- Click on Add Event on the right hand side menu or under calendar
- Select the Category.
- Fill out the forms and click submit
Articles
To submit an article please email us at features@icklebits.co.uk.
Please include:
- Your username
- Your registered email address
- Your article!
- Preferred article title
- Any pictures you feel appropriate (either attach or send links)
Once it has been reviewed by admin we shall be in touch. Please allow 5 working days.
Tutorial Links
Web links can be submitted in 2 ways. The link exchange method is the quickest and easiest and just requires that you place a link on your site first. Registered users can also suggest a web site but this method typically takes longer in getting the link up on the site.
Video Tutorials
Link to your favorite miniature tutorials using YouTube and videos from other popular video sites.
- Log-in
- Go to the Tutorial Videos section using the left side menu
- Click on Upload
- Add in the link of the video
- Edit the description as appropriate
Videos need to be approved by staff before appearing.
Business Directory
Send us a link to your website or any other site you feel may be of interest to our community members.
