Doreen Jeffries Stafford Fair Report PDF Print E-mail
Written by Hazel Dowd

What would you normally do on a Sunday? I would  probably just take time out visiting with grandchildren catching up with what they are doing in their lives; but friends phoned asking if we would like a trip to the Stafford Fair....well we didn't take long to say YES  Please!

So down to Stafford we went.  We arrived after the queue had gone in, lots of visitors in the two halls.  So many that we could not stop and see any stand!  We walked around and then as most people do, wait for a customer to move then get in quick.

It's one thing exhibiting at a fair, everyone comes to your stand but as a visitor, you have to visit every stand and it's hard work.  For instance, back breaking bending over trying to see each and every item.  Being stopped by my customers and friends wanting to know why I am not 'there'  Lovely to be recognised in this way but spent far too long talking instead of looking.

I only managed to buy two items on my list so I will have to do some internet shopping this week.

Stafford is a well organised fair, several stands had cancelled and obviously others from the waiting list had been contacted as it's not good for the fair or the organisers to have empty stands.

Stafford is a good fair to visit, car parking is not a problem and it is well  AA sign posted.   The refreshments are good and plentiful as well.

We must have spent about 4 hours looking spending chatting and then made for home stopping at a restaurant for a late lunch first.
